Rare beauty in Bengal breeding
At New Wave Kitty Cattery, one of our most well-known breeding programs is the dominant blue-eyed Bengal project, which produces striking cats with a truly unique eye color. At the same time, for over 4–5 years, we’ve been lovingly focused on nurturing a special dream – raising beautiful clouded rosetted Bengal cats.
Today, these two programs are coming together – we’ve already begun breeding clouded-pattern Bengals with dominant blue eyes, combining two rare and impressive traits into one extraordinary cat.

Why is the clouded pattern so special?
The clouded pattern is one of the rarest and most sought-after Bengal coat types. It was inspired by the wild clouded leopard, and our goal is to bring that exotic, wild look into domestic Bengal cats.
These cats are known for the following key characteristics:
- Very large, well-separated, distinct rosettes
- High contrast between the markings and the base coat
- Clean, orderly rosette structure – the rosettes do not bleed into one another
This pattern is not only visually stunning, but also genetically rare and challenging to achieve – which is exactly what makes it so valuable.
Why did we choose to focus on the clouded program?
The clouded pattern is:
- The most dramatic and wild-looking Bengal coat
- Exceptionally rare, representing real value in breeding
- Perfectly compatible with our other programs, especially the dominant blue eyes
Our mission is to lovingly raise Bengals that are truly one-of-a-kind – clouded rosetted with dominant blue eyes. And we’re already making this vision a reality.
What are the different coat patterns found in Bengal cats?
While Bengal cats come in several stunning patterns, some stand out more than others for their uniqueness and appeal:
Clouded rosetted – the largest and most dramatic rosettes, rare and valuable
Spotted – simpler, less structured spots
Marbled – wide swirled markings, less desirable
Rosetted – clear, defined rosettes, highly sought-after
Our focus is the clouded rosetted Bengals
At New Wave Kitty Cattery, our breeding focus is on clouded rosetted Bengals. These cats stand out with very large, clean, highly contrasting rosettes, reminiscent of wild leopards. They are breathtaking in all color variations, and we’ve already produced several litters that showcase this extraordinary look.
A truly special litter – 6 clouded-pattern Bengal kittens
In one of our recent clouded litters, we welcomed six Bengal kittens, each with a distinct color and the striking clouded rosetted pattern. This litter is exclusively part of our clouded program – it does not include any dominant blue-eyed kittens. You can read the full story and see photos here:
